  3. HI Susan! I wish I could be there with you and your family during this difficult time. I am thinking about you LOTS, praying for you and your family, and sending much love your way...

HI to the rest of the clan. HI to Peter (Pepper part of Salt and Pepper) who I have not seen in so long.

I have many fond memories of your mom. When I think of her I think of her great sense of humor, her quiet perseverance throughout life, her ability to find her special niche when she moved or life's circumstances changed, and most importantly I think of her special relationship with you. You and your mom worked together as a great team throughout life helping each other out in different ways and loving each other deeply. I have always admired that in the two of you.

I always enjoyed being with your mom whether it was at Duke, in High Point, or Crystal Lake. Her spirit was such a kind, gentle, and funny one!!!!

    Many Blessings!

    Susan Young MacLeod

P.S. Is the McConnel Clan of Scottish descent? I married into the MacLeod family who love being MacLeods.. Are we long lost enemies?long lost friends?

  4. I worked with Harriette at the High Point Public Library until she retired. I greatly admired her perseverence and valued her friendship. I know how much she loved her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. She will be missed by the many, many people who loved her.

  5. Dear McConnel Family:

I remeber meeting the gang--Betty, Phil, Happy, John and Bill when Uncle Stewart and Aunt Kits came to visit with you all to Estouteville in Virginia. Mother, Harriette's namesake, was the oldest and often talked about Aunt Kits great musical talents. I came to know Harriette better when we moved to Pittsburgh and also met Susan, David and Peter. I too remember Harriette's great sense of humor and her courage in moving ahead and raising her children after her divorce. Langhorne and I send our deep condolences on Harriette's death. She certainly put up an amazing fight --a great example for us all. With much love--your cousin Queta Carter Bond
